I´m never a big fan of professional comedians. There is something wrong with having to be funny on command, even though there are people who remain funny as they have more to give than there are actual outlets for them.
Looking at Richard Pryor´s career, I absolutely loved the movie Stir Crazy, but there is lots of stuff he did which wasn´t really that funny to me, especially knowing how his personal struggle was anything but humorous.
Here is one of his performances from before major success came in.
It was probably the first performance where he used uncensored material as prior to that he was more or less clean cut as you needed to be in the 60s.
